MARILYN MANSON: More Wedding Details Revealed
December 2, 2005Ireland's The Limerick Post is reporting that a Limerick-based company has won the contract for MARILYN MANSON's four-day wedding extravaganza.
There has been worldwide speculation about the goth rockstar's wedding, including where it's on, who's going to it and who's doing the food and the cake.
And now it appears, that with Masterchefs Munster winning what is considered one of the most lucrative international contracts of the year, most if not all associated personnel required for the top secret event, will also be from Limerick including electricians, plumbers and even security.
The exact location in Ireland of the four-day wedding, taking place from this Friday (Dec. 2) to Monday (Dec. 5),was still being speculated upon this week and as soon as it emerges, the international press corps will descend. In the meantime, all the usual suspects, Ashford Castle and Dromoland, are being closely watched.
The 35-year-old singer, infamous for his macabre lyrics and gruesome stage shows, is marrying his Playboy model and stripper girlfriend of the last five years, 33-year-old Dita von Teese, whose most celebrated asset is her 16" waist in a PVC corset.
A-list celebrities will be attending, including, it is expected, close friend Lisa Marie Presley and British designer, Vivienne Westwood, who has created Dita's gown.
Founder and owner of Masterchefs, whose head office is in Epicurean House on Robert Street, well known Limerick businessman and masterchef, Pat O'Sullivan, declined to comment when contacted by the Post this Tuesday.
Industry sources say however that if he has won the contract, it is "quite likely that he is signed into a confidentiality clause" as Vogue magazine has purchased the rights to covering the wedding.
The Limerick Post understands however that about 50 people will be sent by Masterchefs to provide all of the catering services, from the chefs who will prepare a traditional Irish banquet, to the housekeeping staff who will look after the guests' rooms in the secret location which is expected will be a romantic country house or hotel.
One reliable source, who did not want to be named, said that he had heard that the guests, guessed at under 100 in number, will be dining on traditional Irish cuisine including spit-roasted pig, duckling, Dublin Bay prawns and lobster.
Commenting on the news, John King of Shannon Development, Masterchefs' biggest client, said, "I can’t say that I've heard about this, but I wouldn't be surprised if Masterchefs had won the contract. We've been using them for the last four or five years, for our banquets in Knappogue and Bunratty and at Kilshane House in Tipperary and also at Tavern at the Castle. They are very, very good, very professional and we have always had an excellent relationship with them."
He added that if the story is true, it will have "great spin-offs for the whole region."
"Masterchefs would also be responsible for the sub contractors," he added, "security, furnishing etc, and they would have given these out locally I suspect."
And while speculation continues about the venue in which the four day celebrations will take place, Mr. King, who is the tourism director for Shannon Development added, "If Masterchefs have won the contract, I'd imagine it's on not too far away, the company has a good network all over Munster. But I can certainly confirm, that it's not happening in Bunratty Castle," he smiled.
